This superb Aït Bou Ichaouen carpet is typical from this berber people. They used to live under tents in the far eastern High Atlas of Morocco. This rug is woven using purple, green, violet and black wools, also showing black hair lines: an influence from Jbel Amour people living across the border with neighbouring Algeria. A large tent main carpet, its pile uses a much spun wool , also characteristical from this area works. I collected this very carpet directly from a tent in the Bou Ichaouen territory.
