Aït Tamassine carpet – Ref D1102

This carpets was woven by Aït Tamassine people, a berber tribe belonging to the Aït Ouaouzguit confederation and living in the Jbel Siroua, south west Morocco. It is woven using rows of symetric knots separated by many warps as is common pratice in this area; the wool is silky and warps are built in stripes of alternating colors. Period: ca 1950 -Dimensions: ca 275 x 150 cm/ 110″ x 60″.
