Ourika berber rug, from Sidi Fadma. This rug is most probably of an ancient type, even though not very old itself. It uses a limited number of colors, geometric elements with concentric lines, some figurative items (tea pots and people), and carding combs also made of concentric lines. The first Ourika rug I found, many years before 2007, was of that type, although no figurative element was present on it. This berber carpet is entirely made of wool, reasonably thick, and mixes natural and artificial colors. Dimensions: ca 350 x 175 cm / 11’8″ x 5’10”.
