This carpet finds its origin with the Beni Mguild berber tribe in central Middle Atlas south of Fes in Morocco. It is entirely made of hanspun wools and knotted using the berber knot. A vintage/tribal carpet, it displays an architecture common to that tribal group, i.e. a lightly uneven losangical grid made of a double line of knots laid over a red field. Period: ca 1980 – Dimensions: ca 230 x 150 cm / 92″ x 60″.
