This pendant shows the Bitis viper; it is made of bronze and originates with the Lobi people in Burkina-Fasso; it is meant to protect its bearer from harmful beings. The snake is one of the primordial animals within many african cosmogonies. Displaying a nice usage patina, it measures 16 cm/ 6,5″.
