Here a sirwa carpet mixing berber and oriental elements. Where the colors are definitely part of the local practices, the origins of the constituting parts vary: the blue abrashed field (ought to a domestic dying) displays a number of small berber losanges floating around a line of bigger ones that have borrowed their “hairs” to the orient. Around this field, the multiple stripes border system is of oriental ascendancy as are most of the motives that fill it. Eventually, it is worth noticing this carpet is woven quite densely (for a moroccan tribal carpet) and with a short pile. Overall, an elegant carpet. Period: ca 1970 – Dimensions: ca 240 x 130 cm / 96″ x 52″ – Ref : R0406
