This is a very nice Rehamna main carpet, dating back to the 1950’s and coming from the Hauz of Marrakech. Tent rug, it is quite Land woven using the symetric knot. Wefts and selvedges are made of goat hair, a typical practice of that confederation of tribes who originally came from Arabia. The large open field is populated with symbols, mostly geometrical. Many of them are built with smaller elements – triangles here, a practice also inherited from their ancient arabic origins. Very good condition, one small repair.Dimensions: ca 425 x 190 cm / 14’2″ x 6’4″.
