This hanbel comes from the Demnat area, east of Marrakech, according to the person who collected it in the field. Although there is no documentation to sustain this saying, the technics may confirm this origin in the central/western area of the High Atlas. The weaving is a straightforward flatweave made of undyed wools, loaded with designs built with colored symetric knots. This type of textile is fairly close to the practice of large grain bags found in the High Atlas mountains further west, close to Marrakech. Dimensions: ca 355 x 140 cm / 11’10” x 4’8″.
