This carpet, new, comes from the Tazenakht region, in south-western Morocco, and was most probably woven in the jbel Siroua mountains that overlook this main souk village. It is woven using the symetric knot as in all Tazenkhat region carpets, made of good local black and white wools. Quite fine, it shows a losangical grid design, which is not really typical of this area but may be found in almost all moroccan berber carpets as it is one of the fundamental and very ancient element of their designs register.An anti slippery material installed underneath is recommended, when used on slick floors.
